“Gilligan” case at UdeM: PSAC-Quebec and university reach agreement

Montreal, March 9, 2018 – The Public Service Alliance of Canada, Quebec Region (PSAC-Quebec) has reached an agreement with the Université de Montréal (UdeM). The agreement, which was signed this morning, puts an end to the various legal actions filed in the Superior Court of Quebec since 2016.

“We are satisfied with the agreement,” said Magali Picard, Executive Vice-President of PSAC-Quebec. “For us, it’s a first step towards better labour relations.”

The agreement follows mediation between the two parties, held on Wednesday, with the assistance of a retired Superior Court of Quebec judge. The dispute arose from a request for an injunction by UdeM following the Union's pressure tactics three years ago, during the last round of negotiations.

PSAC-Quebec will issue no further comments on this matter.
