Political Action

In a union environment, political action is very important. Not only are you unionized workers, you are also citizens. Therefore, you have a duty to be informed, politicized and willing to take part in decisions that impact your working and living conditions.

Quebec, February 28, 2018 – At 6:30 this morning, members of the Union of National Defence Employees (UNDE), a component of the Public Service Alliance of Canada, Quebec Region (PSAC-Quebec), began distributing information leaflets at the entrance to the Valcartier military base. This action, which disrupted the arrival of federal employees at their place of work this morning, marks the second anniversary of the Phoenix pay system.

Montreal, February 28, 2018 – At 6 a.m. this morning, approximately one hundred members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada, Quebec Region (PSAC-Quebec), began demonstrating in front of the federal building at 715, Peel Street in Montreal. Their action marks the second anniversary of the Phoenix pay system and is intended to denounce the pay problems the system has generated. The members’ action disrupted the arrival of federal employees at their workplace this morning.

Matane, January 29, 2018 - The Public Service Alliance of Canada, Quebec region is inviting the media to a press briefing during it they will talk about the Phoenix pay system. Problems caused by the rollout of Phoenix have been plaguing more than 150,000 federal public service employees since February 2016. In the region, as everywhere in Canada, members are affected by the fiasco of this pay system.

Jonquière, January 16, 2018 - The Public Service Alliance of Canada is inviting the media to a press conference at which two PSAC members, federal public service workers, will speak out about the Phoenix pay system problems they have been enduring for almost six months.

Montréal, January 10, 2018 – The Public Service Alliance of Canada, Quebec region (PSAC-Quebec), is proud to announce that an agreement has recently been reached between the administration of the CPE du Complexe Guy-Favreau located in Montréal and Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC).
